what are the effect of radiation after treatment. what can be done
for the migriane headaches

Is it hereditary? My brother was diagnosed with it, and died following the surgery. What cautionary steps, if any, should I be taking/considering?

im 18 i was first told i had a brain tumor when i passed out at a football game it was a grand mile seizure it lasted about 2 mins i didnt come around till over and hour later. Lucky for me my tumor was not going to kill me. But can a tumor re grow once you remove it.

I had to have my thyroid totally removed in March of 2010. I have been taking snythroid to take the place of my thyroid producing the hormone for me. My doctor started me at 137 of the snythroid but after several blood work test, she kept dropping the dose. I am now down to 50. For some reason my body is still producing the hormone. I have been having headaches and trouble with my left eye only (headache is on the left side always) can my pitatury gland still be telling my brain to produce the hormone and can that be a sign of a tumor by the pitutary gland? My doctor has moved to Arizona. I have not seen one since the end of June. I'm at a loss to whats going on. Can someone please answer any of these quwstions????

My 7 years old brother was diagnozed with Congenital Toxoplasma and lesion sincer he was born which severly afected his his brain.He doesn't walk,speak or understand anything.When he was like 1 or 2 months old he also had Sindrom West and after that he used to be like a vegetable.He started gysmnatics and massage and he can make some steps when sustained.I'd like to know if there is anything to do for him,something like a surgery or anything that could help him become a normal child.

I'm still in shock and full of anxiety at the moment...my tumour size is 2.5cm, the |Dr. said to undergo surgery, i have all the dizzy spells, double vision which i thought its my astigmatism, feeling numb for a few seconds on my face, my arms is having funny movements i cant control.loss some of my hearing on my right ear with ringing as well.How many weeks is the recovery time before i can get back to work and have a normal life, can I?i'm so scared of the idea of having a brain tumour!please help!

I have one of these things in my brain. And have had it for about since 1998. I have an MRI taken about every year unless I can not afford it. So far it hasn't grew any. My question is this. I keep having Vertigo spells, where I can't walk without feeling dizzy or nauseated, my eyes feel like they are going to jump out of their sockets, my skin feels like it is boiling through my veins, and I sometimes throw-up with it. I have been having these symptoms now for going on 2 - 3 years. This year I have already had 4 bouts with it. Do you think that this hemangioma could be pressing against something in my brain that is related to my ears or what? My doctors can't seem to figure it out and I'm tired of missing work and losing money. Can you please help? Thanks. V.

i had gamma knife for a n aovm or now they are calling it cavernous hemangioma 6 years ago steroids ,grand mal seizures and last week brain hypoxy drs told me radiation can cause epilepcy in 10 percent of people now im hearing hemangiomas are not treatable by radiation i finally thought i was protected they are also telling me to remove it is too risky but better that then waiting around for hemmorrage any suggestions ...i am a single mom with no income and trying to get disability at the gamma knife drs suggestion

Hello, I have a panic attack that hasn't gone away so far. It started in 2005 and I still have it. I have no breaks. it just keeps going. The only reason I can email this to you is I take morphine for it. I have tried there anti- anxiety, depressants, psychotic, beta-blockers,etc. The only thing that keeps me alive is morphine. But, I don't want to be on any meds. Is there any procedures that can be done to help me?

My father suffered from a brain stroke a week ago... the doctors did MRI and CT to find out that there is an inoperable blood pool that cannot be drained.... it has to do with right side of the brain !! The doctors and nurses are no help as they say "not sure if the bleeding has stopped or stopping" also they are not sure if his BP will ever go down from 210..... My friend had brain tumor remove surgery on 5/18/2010. Due to her poor blood coagulability, she had 2nd and 3rd surgery on 5/21 and 5/22 but the problem remain unsolved. She had 4th surgery on 5/29 and is now in critical condition. Is there any drug or any way can improve her situation?

I had meningioma removed 2006. Undegoing rehab for over 1 year. Has anyone undergone rehabilitation post meningioma removal...Cognitive/occupational therapy etc? And any improvement.

My mom was diagnosed with a brain tumor 4/24 she had surgery 4/28 she did fine she was able to walk by herself and pretty much do anything after sugery until 5/3 then it all went downhill severe nausea, vomiting anything she eats, double vision, blurred vision, loss of balance, seizures, left eye not working right and thats pretty much it. Hi, My wife (Age 36) have been diagnosed with Pituitary Macroadenoma after MRI scan.
Size is 11.8x10.4x11.5. She has been declared with POF(premature ovarial failure) from last 9 years after delivery of only child.
Her all other tests other than FSH,LH and thyroid (which she is taking medicine from last 9 years ) have been declared normal, Recently from last 1 year she is having high BP as well.
Is there any treatment for above or only operation is the solution.
And which operation method we should choose: Using Gamma Knife(Radiation Technology) or Surgical.

I was told by an emergency room doctor that I have a brain tumor and they believe it may be cancer, but I do not have insurance so no one will help me. I do have headache and swelling I will die in time right? JL

i live in canada. my wife and son are vietnamese living in vn. son is almost 4 yrs. he went into coma at 5 mos. tumour was diagnosed. the implanted drain tube brain to stomach to relieve pressure. they said drain shunt will be good for 8 years?? it must be elastic for growth???? brain development was much delayed but now is up to 80% for age, and developping fast.vn hospitals have 1.5 patients per bed, pediatric can have 3 per bed.
doctors said cyperknife surgery is required so advised to return when vn has a cyberknife.at 3 years old, doc said mrI too dangerous, because gen anethetic required. now they have cyberknife but say safer to wait few more years for surgery. his exam consists only of checking eyes and body coordination.in vn and other asian culture it is EXTREMELY shameful to have family with brain disease, seizures, dementia, etc. it is considered result of something terribly bad that family or ancestor has done. doctors do not speak freely but all know it is best for that person to die than destroy whole family generations with shame. i can not get a straight answer or prognosis, treatment, stastistics etc.
i am attempting to move everyone to canada but this process of immigration may take 1 year.doctors in canada will not comment unless they see patient for liability reasons.i tried a private mr in vn but they do not do anethetic needs etc. vn hospitals place priority on immediate life threatening needs first. i can only read thousands of pages on internet. seems the cyberknife type surgery is reccommended immediately in most cases.
i do not know what to expect, i have to do something. we have no insurance for other countries. canada is basically free but he does not have residence status. i need some answers? will the wait cause death?? is there anything to watch for??? should surgery be done asap???
